Shorten Long URLs for Email

Website URLs (addresses) can be pretty darn long and meaningless. Take, for instance, this real URL:

http://www.netflix.com/MovieDisplay?movieid=70001064
&trkid=189530&strkid=31208790_0_0

It’s not very memorable, is it? And it can be annoying to send it via email because it may wrap onto more than one line and become un-clickable in some email programs.

SnipURL allows you to ’snip’ your long URLs into “small, friendly and persistent links for sharing and remembering.” It’s free, easy, and instantaneous. Here’s what I turned the above URL into: http://snipurl.com/goodmovie.

They also have a handy little tool you can add to your browser bar for snipping without first having to go to the SnipURL site.
