When a mediator hears they’ve been called an S.O.B., the mind naturally goes in a certain direction.
But being named an S.O.B. for the Mediator Tech blog is actually something to celebrate! Liz Strauss over at Successful-Blog started her Successful and Outstanding Blogger awards as a way to “encourage the sense of community that Successful-Blog stood for. We’re all about relationships and conversation here. The conversations are fun, fast, and sometimes irreverent. Discussions on the blog often brought up good ideas, and I wanted to make sure those ideas continued and become more out in the blogosphere—everyone making everyone a little bit better.”
I’ve been following Liz’ terrific blog for quite a while and have found some of my favorite blog reads as a result of her S.O.B. awards. To find the crop of fellow S.O.B.s present and past, visit the S.O.B. Hall of Fame.

Hey, that button seems to fit here. I should have made a plan to send it over so much sooner. It definitely belongs. You have the credentials, the content, and the audience. So many folks rely on you, small business owners, who do that web thing –see the wisdom of what you’re saying and find how to apply it their own situation.
You’re reaching and helping more than mediators. You’re teaching business owners of all kinds how to use the principles of an effective personal practice. That’s what makes you and your blog outstanding!

You know, Liz, you’ve raised something that I’ve begun noticing too…that in addition to the mediation professionals who are my primary readers, the site is also drawing other solopreneurs and small business owners. I’ve begun getting quite a few requests for assistance from folks both in and outside the ADR world. It reminds me that even though I recommend writing for a target audience, sometimes we end up speaking to others with similar questions and interests. Not a bad thing!
