New marketing and web strategy service from Tammy
You’ve asked, I’ve listened. I created Making Mediation Your Day Job in 2005 to inform my graduate mediation students about building a private practice, and because so many fellow mediators were calling to ask for advice. I wrote Making Mediation Your Day Job because so many readers and colleagues told me about their discomfort with marketing and I knew there’s an effective way to change that.
Now I’ve created a mediation marketing and web strategy consulting service because so many of you have been in touch to ask for guidance and support to jump-start your ADR business faster than you could on your own.
It’s a service for those of you who are serious about building a viable web presence, tapping leading-edge (but not bleeding edge) marketing tools, and creating a sound marketing foundation that will stand you in good stead as you move forward. It’s for those of you ready to make a commitment, bridge the gap between what you know about marketing and what you actually do, and invest in your ADR business’ future.
If you’re one of those mediators, conflict coaches or other ADR professionals, then I’d love you to take a look at how I can help: Tammy’s mediation marketing and web strategy services.
A special reader offer
If you’ve ever listened to any of my teleseminars or read my book, then you know I’ve been a fan of WordPress, the blogging software, for years. Other ADR bloggers have caught on too and many now use WordPress for their own sites.
I’m also a huge fan of the Revolution theme for WordPress and I swear by it for designing websites, blog or traditional. I even use it for all of my own. Revolution is highly customizable, well coded, and to top it all off, Revolution’s author is a very nice guy. I met Brian Gardner at the Successful and Outstanding Bloggers Conference in May and he’s as friendly in person as he always had been via email. That matters.
I’m such a fan of Revolution for websites that I’m now an affiliate, which means if you buy it through me, I get a percentage of the sale. I affiliate rarely and only when it’s a service or product I use in my own business.
From now through the end of July, if you purchase one of the Revolution themes for use on your own blog or website using the link above, I’ll donate 25% of my commission to Best Friends Animal Sanctuary. No cap on the total donation. Best Friends is the largest no-kill animal sanctuary in the U.S. and some of you know I volunteered with them doing pet rescue in the Gulf region during the Hurricane Katrina disaster. They’re good people doing good things for pets all over the U.S. and beyond (and will be featured again in the National Geographic Channel’s fall show lineup, in DogTown).
I know it’s been said way too much, but how’s that for a win-win?
ACR conference registration now open
Ever been to Austin in September? I haven’t, but I will this September 24-27. I’ve already registered for ACR’s annual conference and I hope I’ll see you there.
This year’s conference has a bevvy of options, including an impressive lineup of pre-conference institutes (including one on marketing by Woody Mosten, who knows his stuff), mini-plenaries, over 100 workshops, ACR section meetings, social and networking events, and an exhibitor hall.
The early-bird registration deadline is August 1, 2008 and ACR members save $130 on the registration fee. Learn more about the conference or head straight to conference registration.
Good reads and resources for mediation marketers and business owners
Here’s a quick roundup of some good ideas and useful tips from around the web:
- Matt Cutts, CEO of Google, offers advice for how to stop junk mail — the paper kind.
- Now you can track your billable time with a phone call and TSheets.
- Need to convert a document to PDF but don’t want to install any special software? Now you can do it online.
- If you like mindmapping to think through a presentation or project, then check out Mindjet’s new online service. I’ve used their offline software for years and can’t wait to try the online version.
