Hey, Robin, thanks for the kind comment. Truth be told, I love the occasional site overhauls and have to rein myself in so that I don't do them too often! :) Good luck with yours and do tell me when it's done so I go for a visit -- most often I read blogs like yours in a feed reader and so can miss the good look-and-feel changes folks make.

Tammy, this is a bit off topic from your good post here. Seems like coming home to visit your blog since this was one of the earliest blogs I began to enjoy. I've always admired the way you change and update your web site template and blog. Keep your fingers crossed for me since I'm going to see if it will work for me to give my blog template a major facelift. It really does not fit my personality because it's too boring after all this while. :-)

Hey, Phoebe - Glad you had a good conference experience with someone who knew how to present well -- much more compelling to sit through, I think. Also glad you had a good laugh! :)

I loved this! It made me laugh such belly laughs I started coughing! I just went to a conference where the presenter actually used a powerpoint very effectively. Out of many conferences i have been to over the years it is the only one I have ever been to where this is the case. I myself rarely use powerpoints since I like engaging with the audience AND the places that I go have such a mix of facilities that I can never count on what they might have. So,my powerpoint capabilites are minimal anyway! I like sticking with the good old fashioned way of presenting, but one of these days I should probably update my repertoire!

Thatnksf or a good laugh though!

Hey there, Diane! That video gives me the chuckles every time I watch it. You're so right about how painful it is to sit through presentations where people read their slides -- painful because of the boredom and painful on their behalf. Yikes!

Tammy, thanks for a hilarious video and an excellent reminder of the value of the judicious use of PowerPoint. This summer I attended a conference for mediators where the keynote speaker read off their PowerPoint slides - for one excruciating hour. Instead of getting pearls of wisdom, I got to have my time wasted. What fascinated me was how oblivious this speaker was to the annoyed glances and irritated paper-rustling among members of the audience. It was perhaps the most painful thing I've ever witnessed.

I applaud your efforts to improve public presentations wherever they may take place!
